IMPACT: GLAAD’s mission is to change people's hearts and minds about the LGBT community by influencing what people see in the media. It promotes and ensures fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of LGBT people and events in the media as a proactive means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination.

ISSUE: In light of the announced resignation of its chief development officer, GLAAD saw an opportunity to assess and improve its overall fundraising performance by implementing a more comprehensive and diversified fundraising operation. 

SOLUTION: The Phoenix Philanthropy Group worked closely with GLAAD’s President and CEO, executive and development staff, and Board of Directors to complete a comprehensive assessment of its fundraising operation and strategies. We recommended and provided a detailed roadmap for a comprehensive restructuring of the entire development operation with a significant expansion of its major gift program, and worked closely with Bain Consulting, who was concurrently managing an extensive strategic planning process for GLAAD.

RESULT: The assessment and detailed roadmap established a solid foundation upon which executive and volunteer leadership is building a stronger, more comprehensive development operation.
