Our Role: Corporate and foundation sponsorships for their national conference on diversity in higher education, prospect development for their national corporate partners program. In association with Corporate Education Consulting, Inc.

Arizona College Scholarship Foundation | Phoenix, AZ

Their Impact: Unique public/private scholarship program with the goal of building a $100 million state-wide scholarship fund to help make college possible for high-potential students who cannot afford the cost. Also works with community-based organizations to identify high-potential, economically-disadvantaged children at an early age for mentoring and support services.

Our Role: Development of annual and long-range fundraising plans to guide their $100 million fundraising initiative.

Arizona Community Foundation | Phoenix, AZ

Their Impact: Statewide network of philanthropists, community leaders, and nonprofit organizations who work as partners to bring together the best philanthropic thinking with the cost-effectiveness of centralized services. Whether it’s the arts, health and human services, animal welfare, or affordable housing, donors can personalize their gifts to causes that speak to their hearts.

Our Role: Research inquiry conducted for ACF and the Ellis Center for Educational Excellence, including stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and forums which helped to determine the feasibility and potential impact of bringing Educare, a national early childhood education program, to the state of Arizona.

Arizona Foundation for Resource Education (AFRE) | Phoenix, AZ

Their Impact: Train highly-skilled K-12 teachers and educational leaders to positively impact student achievement in math and science by transforming classrooms into progressive, high-quality centers for learning. “Make It Happen” grants provide cash incentive awards for completing research on the effectiveness of implemented projects.

Our Role: Fundraising assessment, identification of fundraising priorities and opportunities, creation and testing of the initial case for support, development of annual and long-range fundraising plans, and guidance of AFRE leadership fundraising activities.

Boston University | Boston, MA


Their Impact: Internationally-recognized private teaching and research university founded on abolitionist ideals to create a university that was fully inclusive. From the day of its opening in 1869, has admitted students of both genders and every race and religion. Counts Martin Luther King, Jr. among its alumni.

Our Role: An extensive audit and assessment of the external affairs function, with particular focus on fundraising and alumni relations. In association with The Wayland Group.

College Summit | Washington, D.C.

Their Impact: Dedicated to increasing the college enrollment rate of low-income students by working within inner-city high schools to demystify the application process and provide counseling and encouragement. Has been recognized for three years among Fast Company’s “Top 25 Groups Changing the World.”

Our Role: Market research and interviews with key stakeholders leading to recommendations on market entry strategies and potential partnerships for College Summit’s launch in Arizona. In association with The Greenleaf Group.

Communities In Schools of Arizona | Phoenix, AZ

Their Impact: Work directly with the most disenfranchised student populations – schools that have 85% or more of their students living at or below the poverty level – identifying and removing barriers to their success in school and life. Bring social services and supplemental academic resources directly into the schools where the need can be met head-on.

Our Role: Assessment of the organization’s operational infrastructure, community programs, and fundraising program.

Florida International University | Miami, FL

Their Impact: Florida International University is Miami-Dade County’s first public, research, four-year university and one of the 25 largest universities in the nation. It ranked first among four-year colleges for awarding degrees to Hispanic students in a 2008 survey by Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education.

Our Role: Interim management of the advancement function, building a comprehensive advancement program, and helping drive the fundraising activities of the advancement staff and senior leadership.

Macquarie University | Sydney, Australia


Their Impact: Known as Australia’s “Innovative University.” Has achieved international stature for its interdisciplinary approach to education and research. Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice with a comprehensive range of scholarship offerings to benefit students from disadvantaged backgrounds and Indigenous people.

Our Role: Design and development of the University’s first comprehensive institution-wide fundraising operation including an assessment of institutional preparedness, the application of best practices, design of a fundraising model, and a detailed road map for the implementation of the program.

Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation | Tempe, AZ

Their Impact: With 14 million dollars in scholarships awarded in the last 20 years, Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation receives and manages gifts on behalf of its ten colleges, two skill centers, and multiple satellite centers.

Our Role: Facilitation of strategic planning session, enhancement of operational fundraising, assessment of the development operation, fundraising planning, prospect development, and fundraising coaching.

Melbourne Business School | Melbourne, Australia

Their Impact: Australia’s leading graduate school of business. Unique business education partnership between one of Australia’s greatest universities and the Australian business community.

Our Role: The creation and implementation of turnkey operations in constituent relations, alumni relations, and fundraising; creation and implementation of comprehensive long-range and business plans; hiring and training of staff; analysis and input on multiple aspects of institution’s strategic marketing and partnership division; research of international, national, and regional best practices in higher education philanthropy and alumni relations; advice and counsel to the Dean and Director.

Montclair State University | Montclair, NJ

Their Impact: The second largest and fastest growing university in the state of New Jersey, with 16,700 students. Offers over 250 majors, minors, and concentrations with the added benefit of a small college’s individual attention to students with a 17:1 student/faculty ratio. First educational institution to sign a “green” agreement with the EPA.

Our Role: Assessment of the alumni relations function, including its programs and services, network, communications, fundraising, organizational structure, and resources; and develop a strategic plan for alumni relations and engagement.

Portland State University, Master of International Management Program | Portland, OR

Their Impact: Prepares graduate business students to conduct international business in Asia’s Pacific Rim economic bloc by pairing global MBA education with intensive study of Asian language, culture, and politics.

Our Role: Creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategy and plan for a strong alumni relations program and an emerging corporate partners program.

University of Michigan – Dearborn College of Business | Dearborn, MI

Their Impact: Is among the 12% of US business schools that teach innovation, and known for its practice-oriented business degree programs, applied research centers, and the expertise of a world-class faculty.

Our Role: Feasibility study, research on relevant best practices and benchmarks of peer institutions, and recommendation of next steps in the School’s fundraising and alumni relations activities. In association with Alexander Resources Consulting.

University of Montana Foundation | Missoula, MT

Their Impact: Its recently completed five-year capital campaign, Invest in Discovery – Connecting People, Programs and Place, resulted in gifts and pledges totaling $131 million, surpassing its goal of $100 million and making it the state’s most successful nonprofit fundraising effort ever.

Our Role: Guidance on campaign strategies, tactics, priorities, and prospects; creation and implementation of new campaign and operational fundraising planning and evaluation models, new development officer performance evaluation models, and new management reporting tools; analysis and input on the campaign infrastructure and development services; and ongoing advice and counsel to the President and CEO.

Verde Valley School | Sedona, AZ

Their Impact: International college preparatory boarding and day school dedicated to the importance of global citizenship, understanding, and tolerance. Diverse international body includes students from 15 different nations.

Our Role: Assessment of the development operation and campaign feasibility study.
