David has a diverse and successful background in the business, education, and nonprofit sectors with expertise in marketing and communications; leadership and team development; and organizational change and strategic planning. Most recently, David was the Administrator for Communications for the Pendergast Elementary School District, responsible for internal and external communications, and designing and delivering professional development and coaching for new school administrators. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunications, and formed Hume and Company, a management consulting firm serving local and national clients on projects that included creation of high performance work teams; developing and facilitating labor-management teams; leadership development and executive coaching; and organizational change and process improvement. Prior to this, David spent 10 years as the Marketing Services Director for Phoenix Newspapers, where he was responsible for developing strategy and providing direction for marketing, media advertising, public relations and corporate communications.
